The Female Edit: 100

14th December 2018

14th December 2018

On December 14th, 1918, the first woman in the UK cast a vote. One hundred years to the day later, we will be celebrating this centenary with an evening of pieces, produced, directed, written, and performed by women. Join Us!

A century has now passed since the first time a woman in the UK was able to vote and have a say in who would make the decisions that affected her. It would take another ten years for all women to be granted that right, but still, it was a momentous occasion worth celebrating, don’t you agree?

Earlier this year, creative collective, The Female Edit was formed as a response to #MeToo and the Time’s Up movement, and to develop a piece of work to commemorate this centenary.

As Emmeline Pankhurst said, ‘You have to make more noise than anybody have to be there all time’!
