“Something happens. Some things change.” If So & So What Though is a new musical song-cycle written by singer, actor & composer Joe Partridge, covering topics from modern dating to feelings experienced whilst having a hair cut

Events happen throughout history and in turn throughout our lives. How do we respond? As a society will we ever learn from the lessons of the past, and how do we cope day-to-day with a world that often seems more divided than ever? How can we ensure the mistakes of our past wont become the mistakes of our future?

This production lies between a musical and a song-cycle, where each song is connected by an event - big or small, important or otherwise. We follow our characters in everyday situations, through the rough and smooth of their ambitions: through the work place pantomimes, the concert hall catastrophes and and the daily slog of trying to make it count.

Currently in development, this performance will be the initial showcase of this new set of songs: the culmination of a workshop at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Bridging genres of musical theatre through pop, jazz and classical art-song. Headed up by musical director Will Sharma, keep up to date with our Twitter @IfSoMusical, where our full cast will be announced in February.
