18th May 2016

to

02nd July 2016

Acclaimed director Max Stafford-Clark teams up with some of our most celebrated playwrights for an evening of political satire.

"Politics has become too serious a matter to be left to politicians"
T. S. Eliot

AN EVENING OF IMAGINATIVE, PROVOCATIVE AND HILARIOUS SATIRE

"This'll light a fire in your belly... Don't be surprised if you want to change the world"
Time Out

"Satire with style. Funny, pacy and moving"
Daily Telegraph

"Laugh-out-loud funny... A fun but thought-provoking piece of theatre. Recommended"
Whatsonstage

Max Stafford-Clark directs dazzling short plays by celebrated playwrights: Alistair Beaton and Stella Feehily imagine the scheming inside our major parties, David Hare explores the cult of the free market, Caryl Churchill imagines a world where even language is privatised and Mark Ravenhill weighs the cost of our military adventures.

The cast includes Ann Mitchell (nominated Best Actress for both Olivier and Evening Standard Award for Through The Leaves; known to millions as EastEnders matriarch Cora Cross; Widows), Bruce Alexander (A Touch of Frost; The History Boys); Steve John Shepherd (Michael Moon in EastEnders, This Life, Piaf in the West End), Jane Wymark (Midsomer Murders), Kathryn O'Reilly and Joseph Prowen and in the opening weeks, Sarah Alexander (Smack The Pony, Green Wing, Coupling). There's even original music written by Billy Bragg. Full cast details here.
